Mortar mixing

In a clean bucket, mix Ultra Morta Bond in 25–27% of water.

  1. Mortar mixing. In a clean bucket, mix Ultra Morta Bond in 25–27% of water.
  2. Mixing by mixer or tool. Mix first for 5–10 minutes, by hand or electrical mixer, to mix homogeneously.
  3. Reaction time. Allow the mortar to stand for 5 minutes.
  4. Mortar remixing. Mix again for 2–3 minutes. Now Ultra Morta Bond is ready to use.
  5. Clean surface. Brush the block faces clean of dust and loose particles.
  6. Mortar spread. Spread mortar on the block sides to a 3–4 mm bond thickness.
  7. Alignment. Check with a spirit level and tap into place with a fibre hammer, removing air gaps.
  8. DND — do not disturb. Leave the wall undisturbed for 24 hours.
  9. Setting time. Allow stand-alone setting time. It varies with climate.
